What is the DeepBeat invitation? DeepBeat Dive Festival is an invitation-only dive and music experience. Its Maldives dive festival 2027 launch edition runs 10–14 March 2027 on Maafushi, South Malé Atoll, with guided reef dives, underwater soundscapes, sunset DJ sets and coral restoration. Guest numbers are capped at a few hundred. Invitations go first to the waitlist, in waves.

What is DeepBeat, if not a typical festival?
You've been to festivals before. You know the formula: stages, crowds, overpriced water, and the slow regret of watching your phone die at 2 AM in a field of strangers. The music is loud. The experience is loud. Everything is loud, except the part of you that wanted to feel something.
We built DeepBeat because we were tired of loud. Not a festival with a dive trip bolted on, and not a dive trip with a DJ: a destination where the ocean is the stage and the music is built around it.
Dive. Discover. Dance. Three words, one movement, and an invitation.
What does a DeepBeat dive day feel like?

There is a moment every diver knows: the one right before you roll backward off the boat. Your heart is racing, your gear feels alien, and your brain is screaming this is not normal. Then you submerge, and your breathing slows. The mammalian dive reflex, that ancient piece of biology we share with seals and whales, quietly takes over. We explain it in your body has an ancient reset button.
There is no WiFi at depth. No notifications. The Maldives, an archipelago of 26 atolls, doesn't care about your job title or your follower count. Manta rays gather in Hanifaru Bay; whale sharks cruise South Ari Atoll. None of them know what a status symbol is.

On land, everything is designed around you: the apps, the feeds, the festivals. Underwater, the ego dissolves fast. The reef was here before you and will be here after you. A DeepBeat day is built like a descent, from sunrise sound meditation and a guided dive to recovery rituals and a sunset set. We lay it out in the DeepBeat experience.
How does underwater music work at DeepBeat?

If you've read our essay on why sound travels faster underwater, you know that sound moves about 4.4 times faster in water than in air and arrives at both ears almost at once. It doesn't hit your ears so much as move through your body.
DeepBeat didn't invent underwater music. The Lower Keys Underwater Music Festival has run since 1985, and AquaSonic has performed submerged in glass tanks. What DeepBeat adds is a multi-day destination festival that combines guided scuba diving with music and reef conservation. Selected reef dives use underwater speakers, and sets are built into the recovery and evening programme.
Why is DeepBeat invitation-only?
Because intimacy survives at a smaller scale. At a few hundred guests you can recognise faces by day three, the crew learns your name, and the person leading your dive briefing can look you in the eye and say please don't touch the coral.
This is not scarcity as a sales tactic. Reefs, boats and communities all have natural limits, and respecting them is what makes an experience worth having. So DeepBeat works invitation first, then ticket: waitlist members are offered places in waves, and Founding Members get first access and exclusive pricing once prices are released.
Who founded DeepBeat?
We didn't start with a business plan. We started with a dive.
A few years ago the two of us, Manish Gupta and Ashok Kota, took a dive trip to Netrani Island, off Murudeshwar. The water was breathtaking. Everything around it wasn't: little guidance, no real community, no one helping us understand the ocean beyond the thirty minutes we spent underwater. It felt like a transaction.
Somewhere in that dive we both fell in love, not just with diving but with the sea itself. Diving deserved a culture, not just a checklist. So we built one, and coral planting sits at the heart of it, not as an add-on but as a commitment. Read the full story and how we think about conservation.

The tribe is already forming. Meet the tribe: scientists, sound architects, witnesses, ritual keepers and connectors. They are not attendees. They are architects.
How do I get a DeepBeat invitation?

If you've read this far, something in you already knows the difference between noise and signal, and between being surrounded by people and being known by them.
Join the waitlist. Waitlist members receive invitations first, in waves. If you're coming for the Maldives, the Maafushi 2027 page has the dates, what's included and the Founding Member signup.
"The surface is full of noise. The deep is where you find yourself."
