The Concept

What is the DeepBeat Dive Festival?

DeepBeat is the first destination festival to combine scuba diving, music, dance, and ocean culture — a scalable format designed to travel to the world’s most iconic waters. Maafushi is Trip 1. Read more about the experience or the 2027 destinations.

This is not a festival. It is a category. We do not compete with Tomorrowland. We compete with exclusivity. Not everyone will understand it. That’s the point.

Dive

Ocean exploration, guided dives, certification options.

Discover

Culture, workshops, wellness, personal discovery.

Dance

DJ sets, beach performances, afterparties.

Eco

Conservation and reef-safe practices embedded, not bolted on.

Not everyone attending will be a diver. You don’t need to dive to belong — snorkel, swim, dance, meditate, or just be. The ocean welcomes everyone.

  • Music & festival culture lovers (electronic/underground/house scene)
  • Underwater photographers, filmmakers, storytellers
  • Conscious travellers & ocean-community members
  • Anyone craving something real over something mass-market

You don’t have to dive to come.

Why We Built This

The story behind DeepBeat: who founded it.

After a disorganized dive trip to Netrani Island, Murudeshwar — stunning underwater world, but no guidance, no community, no deeper connection to the ocean — two friends saw the gap: nobody was building a community around diving. DeepBeat was born to fuse exploration, education, conservation, music, and human connection.

“Diving isn’t visiting the underwater world — it’s becoming part of it.”

“It’s more than just a dive and music experience; it’s a commitment to our oceans... That’s why coral planting is at the heart of our journey. Together, we’ll dive, celebrate, and give back.”

Conservation Commitment

Protect what we celebrate.

Coral planting is at the heart of the journey. DeepBeat weaves reef-safe practices and marine conservation into the experience itself — not as an add-on, but as the foundation.

Optional Coral Frame Planting, Coral Adoption, and Reef Conservation Experience add-ons are available — see What’s Included above, our conservation commitments and the Maldives coral restoration story.

FAQ

Maldives dive festival FAQs

Last updated: 22 October 2026

When is the DeepBeat Maldives dive festival?
DeepBeat Dive Festival's launch edition runs 10–14 March 2027 (4 nights, 5 days) in Maafushi, Kaafu Atoll, Maldives.
Is March a good time to dive in the Maldives?
Yes. March falls in the Maldives’ dry northeast-monsoon season (roughly December to April), with calm seas and good visibility on most reefs. See our Maldives dive calendar.
Where is Maafushi?
Maafushi is a local island in South Malé (Kaafu) Atoll, about 30–45 minutes by speedboat from Velana International Airport, Malé.
How much are tickets?
Pricing hasn't been released yet. Founding Members get first access and exclusive pricing.
What's included in the package?
Four nights in sea-view rooms, daily breakfast, return airport speedboat transfers, Shark Bay snorkelling, a 60-minute spa treatment, a Bodu Beru cultural dinner and a beach dinner with a DJ. Dives and PADI courses are add-ons.
What certification do I need?
None for Discover Scuba Dive. Fun dives need PADI Open Water (or equivalent); Open Water and Advanced courses can be added on-site.
How many guests will attend?
DeepBeat is boutique by design, built for a few hundred guests rather than tens of thousands.
Is this just a party?
No. Each day pairs sunrise yoga or sound meditation and guided dives with wellness workshops and sunset DJ sets, and coral planting and reef conservation are built into the programme.
I don't dive. Can I come?
Absolutely. You don't need to dive to belong. Snorkel, swim, dance, meditate, or just be. The ocean welcomes everyone.
Why should I trust this is real?
DeepBeat is backed by 25+ years of event management experience and a decade of Maldives diving expertise, in partnership with Triton Exotica, one of Maafushi's largest resorts.
What if I'm not an experienced diver?
Add-on options range from Discover Scuba Dive (beginner-friendly, no certification required) up to full PADI certification courses — pick what fits your level.
How do I get there?
